Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to gain a comprehensive understanding of clients' unique mental health needs, challenges, and personal goals.
- Facilitate one-on-one counseling sessions addressing various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Lead and implement couples and family therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships.
- Design and implement customized treatment plans that outline specific goals and measurable outcomes tailored to individual client requirements.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention for clients in urgent need and develop safety plans when necessary.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, coping mechanisms, and community resources available for ongoing support.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcome evaluations, ensuring compliance with professional standards and legal regulations.
- Practice ethical and legal standards within counseling frameworks, ensuring client confidentiality and informed consent is prioritized at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work with a diverse cohort of clients spanning various backgrounds, ages, and mental health concerns, providing tailored therapeutic interventions that help them navigate life's complexities. Our client focus includes individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and other emotional difficulties, allowing you to employ a wide range of therapeutic approaches.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
- Proven clinical experience in delivering effective counseling services, preferably within a telehealth setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding towards clients' diverse experiences and cultural backgrounds.
- Commitment to ethical practice and professional integrity in all interactions.
- Proactive in seeking continuous professional development opportunities and staying updated with best practices in mental health counseling.
Preferred Experience
- Two or more years of experience in a counseling role, including work with various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, family systems).
- Previous experience offering virtual therapy in a telehealth environment.
- Ability to manage a full client caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of care.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
